Leadership

Sagacious: Sagax & Sagire

The Sagacious ranks are the highest positions within the pack. Astute creatures, they are wise, resourceful and possess great individual wealth, split into two halves, those of this rank are charged with the task of protecting the location of the pack’s hoard, it’s secrets, as well as keeping pack relations smoothed over and enforcing the rules of the pack.


Consili

The council ranks are considered the overseers and watchful eyes of the pack. They are trusted and intuitive, needing all of their ability to make sound decisions and assist the Sagacious ranks and guide those ranked beneath them to success.


Adcredo

The Adcredo is the highest ranked canine after those within the Sagacious ranks. They are the charged with the task of advising leadership and supporting them, alongside working toward continual discovery and collection of knowledge and assisting with the protection of the pack’s hoards. To earn success, they must be well rounded and quick to learn and communicate, capable of taking charge and leading in absence of a Sagacious ranked member.

Primor

The core of the council, Primors hold specific roles and tasks that aid in the day to day maintenance and functioning of the pack. Refined further from those within the Pelagus ranks, these members are highly specialized within their field and answer only to the Adcredo and Sagacious ranks.

All Primor members are expected to be responsible for their actions and courteous towards other packs, maintaining good relations with them all. Council members can accept members into the pack, however, an ooc leader would need to formally process their acceptance into the pack. Pelagus

Pelagus ranks consist of those recognized for their exceptional individual skills within their chosen field, deemed masters of their craft. Each Pelagus member is expected to host a range of skills and has diligently worked their way through Supera ranks, learning as well as guiding those alongside them in their chosen tier.

All Pelagus members are expected to be responsible for their actions and courteous towards other packs, maintaining good relations with them all. Council members can accept members into the pack, however, an ooc leader would need to formally process their acceptance into the pack.

Supera

Supera ranks consist of four main ‘tiers’, which cover a range of skills and character types, accommodating for a variety of personalities, ages and skill level. For full details on our four tiers, please view the information below.

Domus

An all-encompassing rank for those who do not fit the others, those who take to the Domus tier are tasked with whatever best suits their skill set. From accumulation of existing goods through trade and maintenance of existing pack stocks, to better pack relations alongside this through diplomacy and educating the youth as caretakers.

Members of the Domus tier are therefore typically considered general laborers and practitioners of domestic pursuits.

Domus Parva

Skill Level: No proficiency. Your character has only the barest knowledge, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:
  • Seek out a higher ranked canine to mentor your character in their chosen field.
  • Work on building relations with fellow pack mates.
  • Contribute to the pack: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc).
  • Improving personal character skills.
  • Parva ranked members are expected to aid higher members of their tier in all areas from mucking out stables, to maintenance of buildings, to learning how to barter and trade.

Domus Inter

Skill Level: Basic proficiency. Your character has received some training, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:
  • Seek out a higher ranked canine to mentor your character in their chosen field.
  • Work on building relations with fellow pack mates.
  • Contribute to the pack: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc).
  • Improving personal character skills.
  • Inter ranked members are expected to aid higher members of their tier, although can choose to aid on projects more focused on their area of interest / chosen skill field.

Domus Summus

Skill Level: Good proficiency. Your character has practised heavily and received extensive training, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners, accept joiners, earn a Metier and earn a Area of Study.

  • Active use of characters skills to benefit the pack, increasing the pack's communal stores, trade and relations.

  • Those ranked Summus begin to supervise and aid the lower Inters and Parva, as well as Communis and Humile ranks. Accepting new members, assisting new members in understanding the pack’s culture, managing distribution of Domus personnel so all tasks are completed, etc.

Domus Faber

Skill Level: Excellent proficiency. Your character has practised heavily and received extensive training, along with ample experience in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners, accept joiners, earn a Metier and earn a Area of Study.
Suggested rank content:
  • Take on an apprentice and share your characters knowledge and experience.
  • Active use of characters skills to benefit the pack, increasing the packs communal stores, trade and relations.
  • Contribution and presence within the pack is key: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc.
  • Those ranked Faber begin to supervise and aid the lower Inters and Parva, as well as Communis and Humile ranks. Accepting new members, assisting new members in understanding the pack’s culture, managing distribution of Domus personnel so all tasks are completed and report to members of the Consili for additional tasks.

Virtu

The Virtu is a class of creators and builders. With skilled eyes and hands, the Virtu produce good to expand the pack’s wealth and help produce tradable material. Capable of creating a range of things, from small tools to full-blown buildings, the Virtu are adept and flexible in their usage of resources; from recycled to new, they'll work with what they've got.

Those in the Virtu tier are expected to be able to create and contribute to the pack through their craft.

Virtu Parva

Skill Level: No proficiency. Your character has only the barest knowledge, experience and skills in their chosen field.

Virtu Inter

Scio

Scio's are the scholars of the pack. Their talent lies in their minds and they pursue knowledge and self-improvement relentlessly, seeking to discover new ways to achieve simple things or understand something better. They are the craftsman and teachers, working to create unique goods for the pack to expand it’s wealth, as well as documenting history, drawing maps, spying to gather intel, etc.

Possessing a thirst and a knack for learning, their primary goal is to contribute knowledge to the pack in a vast array of different forms.

Scio Parva

Skill Level: No proficiency. Your character has only the barest knowledge, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.

  • Work on building relations with fellow pack mates.

  • Parva ranked members are expected to aid higher members of their tier in all areas from lending a hand in experiments, recording experiment results for another pack member, fetching books and resources for others, collecting feedback from pack members about desirable goods, learning fundamental skills such as reading and writing.

Scio Inter

Skill Level: Basic proficiency. Your character has received some training, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:

  • Scio Inter’s research becomes more independent and advanced. They are tasked with exploring many different ideas, sharing ideas with others, seeking out the opinion of the Summus, Faber and Erudite, learning the value of creative criticism and participate in helping fellow Inters in their crafts.

Opus

The Opus tier is aimed for those who do, rather than think. Tasked with protecting the pack borders, guarding fellow members on trading trips, infiltration and spying on other groups or packs and theft of goods. Far from being dumb brutes, these members are physical in their expression of skill and knowledge, masters of combat, wise in the ways of deceit and competent at evaluating risks.

Opus members are expected to be able to defend themselves, so this tier is recommended exclusively for those interested in combat or combat based areas.

Rank Archetypes: Warriors, Tacticians, Spies, Guards, Trackers, Hunters, etc.


Opus Parva

Skill Level: No proficiency. Your character has only the barest knowledge, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:
  • Seek out a higher ranked canine to mentor your character in their chosen field.
  • Work on building relations with fellow pack mates.
  • Contribute to the pack: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc).
  • Improving personal character skills.
  • Parva ranked members are expected to actively aid and defend pack members (merchants or diplomats heading out on trips, etc), sparring with others, scouting pack borders, cleaning and repairing weaponry, etc.

Opus Inter

Skill Level: Basic proficiency. Your character has received some training, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners and earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:
  • Seek out a higher ranked canine to mentor your character in their chosen field.
  • Work on building relations with fellow pack mates.
  • Contribute to the pack: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc).
  • Improving personal character skills.
  • Inter ranked members are expected to defend the borders from threats, work on the maintenance and creation of weaponry, greet joiners, scout outlying territories for possible threats and reporting them to the Opus Summus.

Opus Summus

Skill Level: Good proficiency. Your character has practised heavily and received extensive training, experience and skills in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners, accept joiners, earn a Metier and earn a Area of Study.
Suggested rank content:
  • Work under your mentor or take on apprentice, as well as continuing to improve personal character skills.
  • Active use of characters skills to benefit the pack, increasing the packs communal stores, trade and relations.
  • Contribution and presence within the pack is key: join events, aw's, trade for communal goods, etc.
  • Those ranked Summus begin to supervise and aid the lower Inters and Parva, as well as Communis and Humile ranks. Accepting new members, training pack members in all levels of fighting; from basic self defence to weapons work, recruiting new members, monitoring the movement and numbers of prey species, patrolling the borders and defending against threats.

Opus Faber

Skill Level: Excellent proficiency. Your character has practised heavily and received extensive training, along with ample experience in their chosen field.
Characters can: Greet joiners, accept joiners, earn a Metier and earn a Area of Study.

Sodalis

Skill Level: No proficiency. Sodalis are members that have begun to prove themselves, setting roots and starting to establishing themselves within the pack more some.
Characters can: Earn a Metier.
Suggested rank content:
  • Sodalis's should begin to apply themselves toward a certain rank path.

Juvenis

A child or juvenile, should be attentive in studies, but carefree and open to the wonders of the world. Characters aged 0-7 months old are defaulted to this tier and will automatically be promoted to Sodalis once they come of age.

Cessavi

This rank is reserved for NPCs. Sapient has several types of NPCs. Pack NPCs may be roleplayed with. Note that Companion NPCs, Youth NPCs or Absence NPCs cannot be roleplayed without respective player consent. For more information regarding NPC's within Sapient, please view NPC Policies


Humile


Novus

Inexperienced, new members that have yet to prove themselves. Beginners should begin to show their worth within the pack through favors and wealth accumulation.

Incogitabilis

Literally unthinking, the Incogitabillis has proven themselves to be ignorant by their words or actions and thus; untrustworthy. Members may find themselves in this rank for lack of contribution to the pack, break of pack law or similar matters.
